President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, sitting in his wheelchair at the White House, talking to his Grandaughter.
“The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt contracted Polio in 1921. He became permanently paralyzed in both of his legs and relied on a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Despite these obstacles, he went on to become President of the United States, winning reelection an unprecedented four times. He steered our nation out of the great depression and through most of World War 2.
